Naked RK05F disk drive

After several nights of fighting the servo electronics of an RK05F hard disk drive (f for fixed) I could not resist to run the drive with an open disk showing what the heads are doing where you usually don't see them while they hide in the pack.

I know that the lack of filtered air is a problem for heads and disk. So this was a one-time performance. The platter was put back into its case immediately after the shooting. The drive and the pack are in working tested condition. So the damage caused by falling dust (you could hear that...) was not that bad. And... I've got some quite nice pictures to share now.
